Checked by playing version 0.119.0 at the official page on 26 October 2026. The game is still being updated, so details can change.
Azeroth Survivors is a free fan-made game that puts World of Warcraft's classes and zones into a Vampire Survivors-style roguelike. You steer one hero through waves of monsters while its spells fire on their own, choose a spell card at every level-up and try to survive and beat the bosses that arrive on a timer. It is made by Aethus and runs in a web browser.
This guide is unofficial. Forever Calc is a fan site for the WoW Forever talent calculator; we are not connected to Blizzard Entertainment or to Aethus, who makes Azeroth Survivors. This page shows no screenshots, art or text from the game itself; the class icons in our site header are the World of Warcraft icons we use across Forever Calc. Names are written as the game shows them, and the descriptions are ours.
The game's only home is wow.aethus.pl. Other sites use its name, but the game's own code starts only on that page (or from a copy on the player's own computer) and shows a fake-website notice anywhere else, so go straight to the official page.
It needs a browser with WebGPU. The official page asks for an up-to-date version of Chrome, Edge or Safari, and does not mention Firefox; on Linux, Chrome needs WebGPU switched on in its flags. The same page offers a Windows version to download, packed as a .rar archive, which we have not tried.
On busy days you may see a message that too many people are playing. The official page shows it when it reaches its daily request limit, and points to the game's Discord and the Windows version instead.
The names sound alike, but they are different games. WoW Forever is a World of Warcraft game from Blizzard Entertainment; Forever Calc began as a talent calculator for WoW Forever, and that is still most of this site. Azeroth Survivors is a separate fan-made browser game by Aethus, with its own classes, talents and zones, which this guide covers.
Every class starts with one spell and draws its level-up cards from its own pool. The numbers below are from the game's class and Armory screens. Paladin has the most health (245) and Warlock the least (165).
We do not rank them. We have played too few runs to back a ranking, and the game is still being updated. The numbers above and the talent milestones below are what the game itself shows; pick the class whose trees appeal to you.
Talents are earned per class between runs. Every class has three trees, up to 51 points in all and 3 spec slots to keep different setups. A tree opens a new row for every 5 points you put into it. At 10, 20 and 30 points in a tree, a one-point milestone talent opens, and those milestones change the way your spells work. Resetting talents is free.
These are the milestones of every tree, by name; hover over a talent in the game to see what it does. Where the game shows two talents at one milestone, we list both with a slash as it does; we did not test whether you get both or choose one.
There are 12 zones. Each one opens when you beat a named boss in the zone before it, and zones open per class: the main screen counts them for the class you have picked, and co-op lobbies check the same.
Kills, bosses, a win and the time you survived all add talent experience for the class you played, and harder zones add more. Our first run lasted 49 seconds and earned 14 (10 for the time, 4 for kills); the first talent point needed 80.
Bosses drop gear for your class and you keep it. Each class collects its own: 54 for most classes and 60 for the Rogue and the Shaman. Both the gear and the appearance you pick belong to that class.
Run Options make runs harder: more enemies (up to 500%, and each kill then counts for less), more enemy health (up to 500%), harder enemy hits (up to 300%) and faster enemies (up to 150%). Harder settings raise talent experience and boss loot chances, to at most double; beyond that, a harder setting adds difficulty with no extra reward.
Your race adds passive bonuses. The Armory showed four Alliance and four Horde races, and we read the bonuses of two. Human: +15% damage for 10 seconds every 30 seconds, +10% experience and +20% gold. Dwarf: a shield that absorbs 30% of maximum health every 45 seconds, +6% damage and +30% pickup range. You choose race, gender and look in the Armory.
Progress is stored in your browser. Options, then Saves, exports it as a file you can import on another computer or browser, and the game saves a backup for each hour of play, keeping the five most recent.
The game has 98 achievements worth 2,270 points, in six groups: Zones (24), Classes (20), Collection (7), Feats (21), Lifetime (12) and Co-op (14). They count for the whole account, whichever hero earns them, and their points buy perks on the Rewards tab.
Each perk opens once you earn a named achievement, and some have several ranks you buy one at a time. What the first rank does, in our words:
The Rewards tab also has companions, tabards and appearances, and each save can reset its perks twice to spend the points again.
The Co-op button on the main screen lists public lobbies for the same game version, with tabs to host a lobby or join one by code. You can filter lobbies by zone, by zones you have unlocked and by password, and you can only join a zone your class has already opened. The lobbies we saw had room for five players.
Co-op also has its own group of achievements: 14 of them, worth 495 points.
No. It is a fan project made by Aethus, whose name is on the game's main screen. Blizzard Entertainment did not make it, and Forever Calc is not connected to either of them.
Yes. It plays free in the browser at wow.aethus.pl. The main screen has a Buy me a coffee button for anyone who wants to support it.
At its official page, wow.aethus.pl. The game starts only there or from a copy on your own computer; on other sites it shows a fake-website notice.
No. It runs in a browser with WebGPU, such as an up-to-date version of Chrome, Edge or Safari. The official page also offers a Windows version, which we have not tested.
We have not tested phones, tablets or the Steam Deck, so we cannot promise they work. The official page's code does include touch controls for phones and fixes for Android and iPhone browsers, and the game's Options have a Gamepad section.
The official page names Chrome, Edge and Safari and does not mention Firefox. If the game does not start in Firefox, try one of those browsers.
Yes. The official page and the game's main screen both have a link to its Discord server.
We found no Steam version on the official page or in the game (version 0.119.0). It plays in the browser, and the official page offers a Windows download.
We found no place to enter codes and no cheat menu in the game's menus (version 0.119.0). Third-party save editors are on GitHub; they are not official, so export your save first (Options, then Saves) if you try one.
No. WoW Forever is a World of Warcraft game from Blizzard Entertainment, and Forever Calc's talent calculator plans its talent trees. Azeroth Survivors is a separate fan-made browser game by Aethus, with talents of its own.
They are separate projects. By its GitHub page, Hordes of Azeroth is a survivors-style mode for a World of Warcraft 1.12.1 client, run on your own PC with a private server. Azeroth Survivors plays in the browser at wow.aethus.pl, with nothing to install.
The official page shows that message when it reaches its daily request limit. It then points to the game's Discord and to the Windows version.
Yes. Co-op has public lobbies, hosting and joining by code; the lobbies we saw had room for five players.
9 classes (Warrior, Paladin, Hunter, Rogue, Priest, Shaman, Mage, Warlock and Druid) and 12 zones, from Elwynn Forest to Naxxramas, in version 0.119.0.
Progress is saved in your browser, so clearing its site data can remove it. Export a save from Options, then Saves, so you have a backup or can move it to another browser.
We first played version 0.115.0 on 25 October 2026, then rechecked every fact on this page against version 0.119.0 at wow.aethus.pl in Chrome on 26 October 2026: Hunter runs in Elwynn Forest, plus the class, talent and Armory screens of all nine classes and the zone, Run Options, co-op, saves, achievements, rewards and pause screens. The run examples, such as the 49-second first run, come from our first runs. The names on this page are the game's own; the descriptions are ours. For the game itself, we link only to its official page.
